About Us

Clare & John Serginson

During the 70s and 80s we both lived in London, working in the advertising industry, myself a still life photographer, Clare an ad agency art buyer. It was an exciting and rewarding life, but also a very intense and competitive environment.

We had each traveled widely, before we met then as couple, but to recharge our batteries there was nowhere better than long weekends in the Lake District, tearing up the M6 in the old Golf. The contrast between the buzz of London and the serenity and sheer majestic beauty of The Lakes and mountains was a real tonic, with long walks during the day, simply taking in the landscape, returning to a cosy cottage or hotel for the evening. When the sun shone and the odd rooster crowed we both agreed you really could mistake this wonderful  unique place for a foreign destination.

In 1993 we decided to move to the Lake District for a whole new life, with the idea of our own cottage agency, where we wanted the model to be different from others, one that would offer visitors an exceptional experience, where quality not numbers mattered. We hoped our skills would benefit home owners and holidaymakers, presenting the properties in an exciting manner, along with lots of information about the area, its attractions and just why, like us, once visited you to will fall in love with this unique part of England.

For the twenty two years we have been advertising holiday homes and cottages, our mantra of Quality not Quantity still stands, inviting only those owners with properties that have been awarded a certain level of recognised comfort and standard, our company a recognised brand, one which hopefully fulfils our guests expectations of the perfect dream holiday home in the Lake District.
