Self-catering holiday accommodation in Coniston

A small village set between Coniston Water and The Old Man of Coniston (a popular fell in the Lake District for walkers), Coniston is most known for its links to John Ruskin, a famous writer and art critic. Its locality to Coniston Water makes it a popular stop for those looking for boat trips and some water sports on the lake. The National Trust Steam Gondola departs from Coniston and includes a stop at Brantwood on its route, the former home of John Ruskin, which can be found on the other side of the lake.

Elsewhere in the village there is plenty on offer for holidaymakers to the area with a local pub, village shop, local museum and lots of walking routes leaving from the centre of the village. Nearby you also have access to other Lake District villages like Ambleside, Hawkshead and Grasmere.

A stay in one of our Coniston cottages is sure to keep you busy on your Lake District holiday.
