This pretty village has a lot going for it, aside from its famous dessert; Cartmel Racecourse holds regular race days in the village bringing in a whole host of jockeys and race enthusiasts to the area; the beautiful Cartmel Priory Church has a vast history, dating back to the 12^th century; and more recently it’s become a foodie destination with a Michelin star restaurant in the village.
