Self-catering holiday accommodation in Caldbeck
One of the most northerly villages in the Lake District National Park, Caldbeck is a popular village with holidaymakers due to its location under the Northern Fells and its many walking routes nearby. The ‘Beauty of Buttermere’, Mary Harrison, who was the daughter of the Buttermere pub landlord and the famous huntsman John Peel are both buried in Caldbeck church, which dates back to the 12th century; both have either a song or a book written about them.
Nearby towns such as Bassenthwaite, Keswick and Cockermouth are all within driving distance and the North Lakes is easily reachable to enjoy the lakes of Derwentwater, Ullswater and Buttermere. Its location makes it a great base to enjoy your Lake District holiday.
