Self-catering holiday accommodation in Winster
A small village in the South Lakes, Winster is just a few miles from the popular towns of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. Although small, there are many walks from Winster, so you will never be short of something to do on a Winster holiday.
Hidden within its own valley, Winster is famous for its damsons, and celebrates Damson Day every April. Nearby, a few other villages are nestled amongst the area’s scenic orchards, woodlands, pastures decorated with limestone and white-washed farmhouses, such as Bowland Bridge and Underbarrow.
Lake Windermere is just a few miles away and offers a number of water sports and boat trips. It’s also awash with nature for those that love bird watching. Cartmel, home of the sticky toffee pudding is a little further south, and the market town of Kendal is also east of the village. No matter what you’re looking for in your Lake District holiday, you are sure to find something to keep you entertained.
