The Kentmere Valley lies east of Windermere, a beautiful, unspoiled valley with a river running its three-mile length. The village lies at the head of the valley where you will find some of our best high fells and distance walks on your doorstep. There are not too many homes in this area, making it a true oasis of peace and tranquillity.

For families this is a wonderful spot to choose to stay, as the village of Kentmere and the valley surrounding it is apparently the inspiration for the town of Greendale in the children’s story of Postman Pat.

Although quiet there’s plenty to do nearby, Windermere is just 20 minutes away and the town of Kendal is only half an hour away, meaning you have everything you need with just a short drive away.
