Self-catering dog-friendly accommodation in Grasmere

The traditional village of Grasmere is the ideal location for your next adventure in the English countryside. Bring your nature-loving canine to one of our dog-friendly cottages in Grasmere and explore the walking trails, hills and woodland that make up this stunning area of the Lake District. Grasmere is a village full of cobbled, cottage character and traditional crafts, and only a short walk from the banks of the lake that shares its name. Stay in pet-friendly accommodation, enjoy the independence of a self-catering break, and treat your dog to an inspiring Lake District holiday full of great places to run and clamber.

The village is famous for being home to romantic poet William Wordsworth. The scenery around the lake is so idyllic that he called it "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found”. This literary legacy is everywhere in the village. Visit the poet’s residence, Rydal Mount and Gardens. Tread in the poet’s footsteps with your furry friend as you adventure along the banks of the lake and into the wilderness of the Lake District National Park. Head south to Lake Windermere, where you can catch a ferry from Waterhead Pier, go boating, or sniff around the remains of a Roman fort on the edge of the sweet town of Ambleside. You could even climb Scafell Pike if you’re feeling really adventurous. All before returning to one of our Grasmere dog-friendly holiday cottages.
