This sweet holiday apartment is in the very heart of Grasmere, a place once described by Wordsworth as 'the loveliest spot that man hath ever found'. The one-bed home has the gentle River Rothay flowing behind, creating a wonderful setting for a romantic or solo break. Step outside to a fantastic selection of pubs, cafes and independent galleries within 350 metres. Keen walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice, with the famous Helm Crag (1 mile) and its distinctive Lion and the Lamb formation practically on your doorstep, and excellent walks around Grasmere Lake (1.5 miles). Literature lovers can visit the Wordsworth Museum, and the National Trust site Allan Bank and Grasmere is also well worth the trip (both 0.5 miles). While you're here, don't forget to sample the world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread (350 metres) and perhaps take some home for friends and relatives.

You'll access this first-floor apartment via an external staircase and secure entrance hall. Inside, a Shaker-style kitchen features Quartz worktops and a breakfast bar with stools under soft, dimmable pendant lighting for relaxed dining. After dinner, relax and sink into the deep-cushioned sofa, perhaps switching on the Smart TV for some easy entertainment. Here, an armchair and footstool sit in the bay window framing views of the green and fells – lovely for sitting with a fresh brew (and perhaps some of that gingerbread). The carpeted king-size bedroom features wooden blinds for a restful feel. A stylish walk-in shower room completes the interior, alongside handy extras such as USB plugs throughout. You'll have shared access to a ground-floor utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside, you'll have one private parking space in the on-site car park, with your space conveniently positioned close to the entrance. While there's no outdoor space, you can easily step out and explore the village on foot, including footpaths and riverside strolls.

Beautiful cosy apartment right in the centre of Grasmere. Whilst we were there a new thick mattress was delivered. Very comfortable. The owner sorted all this out and we were not inconvenienced at all. This is our third visit and we will definitely be booking again.

Lovely apartment in a brilliant location for exploring Grasmere and surrounding walks. Kitchen and bathroom both very clean and tidy. Our only complaint was the bed, the mattress is uncomfortable. Cosy flat in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped and both the kitchen and bathroom were very modern. There was an issue with the boiler while we were there so we had to call the emergency number as it was during the evening, but they responded immediately and were able to sort it out straight away. We really enjoyed our stay. The only sRead moremall criticism I had was that the mattress wasn't the most comfortable. Hide

Gingerbread Nook was a lovely little home away from home, perfectly clean and just like its photos. It was handy to local or more ambitious walks, and great shops and restaurants, but also perfect for self-catering. We would definitely stay again!
