Self-catering holiday accommodation in Appleby
In between the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Appleby, now formally known as Appleby-in-Westmorland, is a wonderful base to enjoy the north of England.
The market town itself has a vast history waiting to be uncovered. Many estates, castles and churches in the area were restored by Lady Anne Clifford whose resting place you can now see at St Lawrence’s Church.
Set in the Eden Valley, you have plenty to explore on your doorstep, nearby towns and villages such as Penrith, Pooley Bridge and Kendal are all within driving distance and, with the M6 just a few miles away, travelling to and from Appleby-in-Westmorland couldn’t be easier.
