This super cottage lies in the grounds of Townson Ground, a group of some six privately owned holiday homes. Set in the heart of the Lake District, the properties are near the north east shores of Coniston Water, offering easy access to the many areas of shoreline open to the public, along with excellent walks.

The village of Coniston lies about a mile and half around the lake, a mostly flat walk, offering shops, cafes and a number of good pubs serving locally brewed ale.

For me this is a perfect cottage for two, ideal for honeymoons, romantic breaks and summer holidays. Built in a traditional style but with all mod cons, including a Jacuzzi garden spa tub, the cottage is contemporary in its decor and designed for easy living and comfort.

Living Spaces

You step into a good sized open plan living space. To one end is a fully fitted kitchen area with quality German units and polished granite stone surfaces, offering all you need to rustle up your favourite recipes.

The sitting room area sits under a pitched ceiling, with a roaring log burner to add that extra cosy atmosphere in winter months. French doors open to the main garden area where you can enjoy and drink, enjoy the view and relax and unwind in the Jacuzzi Spa tub. For added ease the owner provides extra towels and robes for your comfort and spa experience.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The bedroom is very comfortable with a king sized double bed and pretty furnishings. The bathroom is a good size with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.

Garden Spaces

Surrounded by its own large garden there are views of Swirl Howe, one of the craggy peaks that form the Coniston Mountain Range. The Jacuzzi Spa Tub is perfect to relax and sooth tired muscles.

All in all this is a fabulous cottage set in a perfect location at the heart of the Lake District, perfect for exploring the National Park or simply relaxing in and around the cottage.

Out & About

Coniston Water, the village and the Old Man are three icons of the Lake District. Set in the very heart of the National Park this area has been a long time favourite for walkers and climbers, along with those that prefer a gentler, more relaxed holiday.

The village offers shops, inns and cafes and down at the boating centre you can hire boats to take out onto the water, or take a trip on the lake cruisers or the ridiculously beautiful steam yacht Gondola.

The mountain is climbable by any reasonably fit person. Well-marked tracks lead to the summit and if you only go part way, the memorable, the pint after in the Black Bull even more tasty.

East of the lake is the huge Grizedale Forest. A centre for all things woodland, there are trails that take you on a nine mile route, where on the way you can spot the many sculptures created by resident and visiting artists. At the visitor centre bikes can be hired for mountain biking, and at Go-Ape, the tree top assault course, you can find your inner Tarzan.
