No 3 Church View

3 Church View is the perfect romantic retreat for two, a combination of stylish decor, easy living and comfort, along with all the amenities of a perfect Lakeland village. Set in the beautiful and popular village of Cartmel, the cottage lies a few minutes walk from the village centre where you will find a clutch of excellent inns, cafes and restaurants including the Good Food Guide No1 Restaurant 2015 and two Michelin star awarded L'Enclume, along with a fine selection of shops.

The Living Spaces

Duck through the little front door, and you step into a cosy, elegant sitting room and dining space. The sense of comfort is immediate, where soft tones and quality fabrics give a welcoming atmosphere. A plump comfortable sofa and large armchair to relax around the log burning stove at the end of a day exploring, and to the far end is a leather bound table for dining. A wide screen TV along with well chosen decor, all combine to make the perfect space in which to curl up and relax with maybe the latest bestseller or movie blockbuster.

From the sitting room you go through to the kitchen. As the pictures show this is a very well designed, equipped and pleasing space, ideal to rustle up a light lunch or your favourite supper.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Stairs lead up to the first floor and the double bedroom and bathroom. Though small, the bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed along with delightful decor. The bathroom is of a period style with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.

Garden Spaces

Outside, from the kitchen, you have a little walled garden patio area and garden room. As the sun comes over in the afternoon and into the evening it is a delightful space to enjoy a drink or dine alfresco.

For me this little cottage has it all, and I am sure that all who stay will leave with lasting memories of both the Lake District, the village and this super little retreat.

Out & About

Possibly the most picture perfect village in the Lake District, Cartmel has grown into a chic little place, wrapped up in the most delightful architecture of traditional lime washed and stone built houses, shops and pubs.

Centered on the village square, overlooked by the huge Normal priory, the village is a maze of little lanes and bridges crossing a sweet little river, cruised by fleets of ducks and swans.

For those who like to step out to wine and dine, the village has much to offer. Home of the famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding, it has moved up the gastronomic scale to become a place of pilgrimage for foodies and celebrities. A clutch of cafes compliment the four excellent pubs, with the cherry on the top of the Cartmel Cake, or should I say Pudding, being Simon Rogan’s two establishments, Rogan & Company, an easy-going bistro and the famed two Michelin star awarded L’Enclume, voted the 2015 Good Food Guide’s No1 UK restaurant.

There are plenty of easy walks from the village. A favourite is to climb high up onto Hampsfell with its panoramic views across the Morecambe Bay, then descend down to Grange Over Sands or explore the tracks running through Eggerslack Woods.

A great day out is to take a Segway off road tour. The offices are by the car park and the reviews so far from our guest make this a must for a bit of fun.

Your Say

We have spent the past 3 weeks travelling through the UK and Ireland and have thoroughly enjoyed our adventure. This peaceful hamlet has been a very special treat, and in particular this charming cottage has made our stay more enchanting. We thank you and hope to return.

Thank you for a wonderful week. This is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic friendly village. We have felt very welcome and very much at home here so much so we would love to stay!! The cottage offers some lovely homely touches and we would not hesitate to return when we next visit Cumbria. Many Thanks

We have had the most special stay-cation in this glorious cottage; the décor is beautiful and so cosy! We loved walking to the bread shop in the mornings for fresh croissants and cheese. My husband surprised me with a romantic meal at the Michelin starred L’Enclume which we have been reading about for years, we enjoyed getting dressed up for dinner then being able to walk back to the cottage a little tipsy after an amazing meal. The views of the priory are lovely and we enjoyed the walk around the race course and the woods beyond where we spotted Roe deer. Thank you for a wonderful stay we hope to return in the summer and maybe catch the races.
