Meadowcroft Map and Directions

Please note it is best to use these written directions rather than trusting to “Sat Nav” or “Google” directions as these can often bring you into the area on a convoluted route causing confusion, not the easiest start to your holiday.

Leave M6 at Junction 36 and take the route to Hawkshead, either via Newby Bridge (slightly shorter and quicker), or Ambleside (wider road).

From Hawkshead follow signs to Sawrey, skirting the edge of Esthwaite Water.

As you enter Near Sawrey you will pass the National Trust car park on your right. Just beyond this, on a T Junction you will find Meadowcroft on the left hand side.

A track to the side of the property takes you to the rear of the house where there is parking for two cars ( this is narrow, you might want to walk up and check first ). You can also park near the Tower Bank Arms: also for a small fee on the National Trust car park (NT members free) .

Arrival time 4 p.m. - Departure time 10 a.m.

If arriving in the dark it is advisable to bring a torch.
