This is one of the brightest, spacious and homely single bedroom cottages that we have stayed in, conveniently positioned for walking and we enjoyed our self isolation. We look forward to returning in the future under better circumstances.

The cottage is in a great location right in the centre of Ambleside. There are steep steps leading up to the property so its not suitable for everyone. The cottage is very cosy and cute and well furnished. We would return and recommend,

Our second time visiting this cosy cottage in the centre of Ambleside in winter. Log effect gas fire is very effective without the mess. So convenient for shops and many excellent restaurants. Lots of walks from the door or a short car ride away.

We had a very relaxing time at the cottage. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils. Very central and quiet. Not suitable for those with mobility issues. Would recommend for a getaway.

This was a very relaxing cottage to chill out in during our stay and very convenient for the shops and walking in the surrounding area. Lovely views and terrace and comfortable bed. Particularly liked the log burner, even though it was gas, it looked very effective and toasty. Quite a few steps to climb to get to the cottage but wouldnt have had thRead moree views if it hadnt been high up, being the position that it was. Would recommend to my able bodied friends. Hide

Well maintained cottage in an excellent position in Ambleside, with plenty of restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. There are plenty of walks starting from the village, so hardly need to use the car for the whole week.

Good location for accessing shops restaurants and entertainment in Ambleside. Very comfortable cottage. We had to call the company responsible for the cottage management as the tv did not work and they were very helpful and quickly sorted the problem with the Ariel within 24 hours.

Beautiful cottage, little difficult to find but once you find it there is easy access, car parking is not far down the road and there was always a space for us. Bedroom is massive and has an extremely comfortable bed. Living room and dining area are perfect for chilling. Myself and partner spent many nights watching a film or playing cards.

Amazing location with good views of the opposite fells from terrace Close to town centre but feels nice and secluded Very comfortable, spacious cottage with good facilities Nicest cottage in Ambleside in our experience

Reviewed by Jackie 3rd August 2019

Comfortable cottage right in the centre of Ambleside meant that we could enjoy the Lakes largely car free. Be prepared for the steps up. Could be a little noisy from the pub opposite on weekend nights.

Beautiful area with lots more beautiful places to visit. Lots of places to eat in or takeaway and cafes for your smaller snacks. Not ideal if you have walking problems as steps to property are quite steep.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
