Overall a brilliant, comfortable house for a large multiparty group, in a great location and well-equipped for cooking and dining. Appreciated the Xmas tree. Beds and Linens good quality. An overall sense though that, for an expensive property, strange choices to scrimp on the lack of any provisions whatsoever! Very surprised given the cost for a wRead moreeek that there was nothing basic like salt, pepper, sugar, kitchen roll, cooking oil, basket logs- just some washing-up liquid +4 dishwasher tabs! Hide

The beautiful house is not really suitable for aged people with mobility issues. No ground floor toilet for example. Walking to the lake was impossible for us and this could be made clear in the description. Lack of essential food items. Salt, pepper, tea, coffee and enough dishwasher tablets was irritating and could be solved by a paid for welcomeRead more pack. Having said all of that, our family of 12 aged from 1 to 90 had a lovely comfortable long weekend. Wonderful location so can be recommended. Hide

Large, comfortable and homely property in a quiet and beautiful location, ideal for a family or group holiday. The house is well-equipped and has period furniture. There are adjoining properties on either side, so consideration is needed for neighbours and no karoke parties! We used it for a family gathering and it was much enjoyed by all.

We stayed at the Townson Ground House for a 50th birthday celebration and it was absolutely magical. The labyrinthine house is absolutely idyllic and was amazingly cosy with the fire and the log burners adding to the ambience. The views from the house are amazing - particularly from the top room where you have a great view o the mountains and ConisRead moreton Water. The Coniston Arms is a shortish walk away and Coniston itself has a great little Spar shop to stock up on logs and other consumables. Hide

Nice cottages we had a great time. It is fairly close to the village and easy to find. The cottage could do with a freshen up with paint but other than that it has everything you need.
