A great base to explore the Lakes. An idyllic location in Watermillock a mile above Ullswater, High House Farm sits in 10 aches of open fields and surrounded by breath-taking views of the fells.

Take advantage of walks from the doorsteps to Aira Force waterfalls part of the Ullswater Way, Little Mell Fell and Gowbarrow fell- 2 of the 214 Wainwrights. Uncover the impressive views of Helvellyn, the 3rd highest peak in England - 7 miles away and the surrounding fells. If opting for hiking or biking adventure the choices are endless. A mile away a pub beckons serving local ales. Venture 3 miles to the bustling village of Pooley Bridge, here you find riverside coffee shops, pubs, a restaurant, independent stores, a bookshop and an off license, P.O and Tourist Information. From here you can take in the magnificent scenery from the water when onboard one of Ullswater steamers to Howtown where there is a tea room or further to the lively village of Glenridding which has a sailing centre. For a more leisurely day indulge in a spa day at the local Hotel less than a mile away.

The light and airy feel of the Heft can't help but uplift the sprits. In rain or shine the Heft is a perfect haven. It is the largest of the cottages. Ascend three steps to the glass doors and you will enter into the open plan living space, with a large comfy sofa, smart TV with Sky channels, a desk and chair - the perfect retreat to start that book. The kitchen has all the amenities for your stay and has a Victorian dining table. Leading into a spacious bedroom with a super-king bed, DAB radio, ensuite bathroom with shower over bath and heated towel rail. Step outside and enjoy the stunning views.

No longer a working farm, 5 of the traditional stone buildings have been lovingly converted into stylish self catering cottages with character and exposed beams providing the perfect spot to savour the surroundings. Designed for comfort and ease of use the cottages offer a one level living experience. The cottages sit privately from each other and all have an enclosed outdoor seating area with furniture and fire bowl. There is ample parking and storage for kayaks and bikes.Less than a 20 minute drive from the M6 makes High House Farm accessible for short breaks or full week holidays.

A wonderfully quiet little bolt hole, comfortable and stylish with everything you need. It was a perfect base for exploring the northern fells, with a great selection of pubs and short walk or drive away, couldn't ask for more.
