Set in the historic village of Troutbeck in the Lake District, this delightful single-storey retreat is wonderful for a rural break for a solo traveller or couple. It's surrounded by beautiful fell views, making it beautifully romantic, and a fab base for walkers, with routes for all abilities. The slopes of Wansfell Pike (2.5 miles) are reachable on foot. The village itself has a warm community feel, with two excellent country pubs within 350 metres, both known for local ales and hearty home-cooked food. A drop-in to the charming local tea room and village shop (1 mile) is also highly recommended. For days out, take scenic cruises on Lake Windermere (8 miles) or visit Stagshaw Gardens (3.5 miles) for colourful woodland displays. Ambleside (4.5 miles) has shops, eateries, a cinema, tennis courts and an indoor climbing wall, with the picturesque Stock Ghyll Force waterfall nearby (5.5 miles).
On arrival, step inside to an inviting open-plan living space with lovely traditional features such as exposed beams and flagged floors. Solid oak furnishings and a pretty décor perfectly complement the setting. You'll have a stylish kitchen area and a comfortable lounge centred around an electric stove and TV – perfect for unwinding after a day on the fells. You can sit down for meals at the dining table. Opposite, the pretty double bedroom is dressed in soft fabrics for a restful night's sleep, and there's a fully tiled wet room with a spacious shower and underfloor heating to keep things warm and comfortable year-round.
Outside, take your morning cuppa out to the private enclosed patio with seating, admiring those lovely fell views. The enclosed terraced garden enhances your sense of privacy and tranquillity. Parking is available close by in a designated space alongside the owner's paddock or, for a small car, beside the property.
