Situated in a quiet part of Ambleside, this charming ground-floor apartment is a former artist's studio and is one of a small group of properties in a delightful, elevated building within easy reach of the town centre. Ambleside has a choice of friendly restaurants, independent shops and traditional pubs, with attractions including Zeffirellis Cinema, The Bridge House, and Ambleside Roman Fort. Stock Ghyll Force is just outside the town, and from Waterhead Pier (0.5 miles) you can take a boat trip along the length of Windermere, calling in at Brockhole, Wray Castle, Bowness, and Lakeside. The area has a wealth of destinations for eager walkers including Wansfell Pike, Loughrigg Fell, and the Langdale Pikes (all within 7 miles). Rydal Water and Grasmere are to the north (both within 4 miles), with Coniston Water and Esthwaite Water to the south-west (both within 6.5 miles).

A flight of external steps leads up to this characterful retreat, where you will be greeted by a fresh and generous lounge with a lovely wood burner-effect gas fire, ample seating, and Smart TV – offering a relaxing space to snuggle up and unwind together. Heading along the cheerful hallway, the light and elegantly arranged kitchen has a wealth of useful equipment alongside a sleek breakfast bar perfect for sharing a romantic meal. When it's time to turn in for the night, the charming bedroom has a lovely king-size bed, plenty of storage space, and picturesque views towards Loughrigg Fell and Nab Scar. The accommodation is rounded off with a bright, refreshing and fully tiled bathroom.

Stepping outside, a small patio garden area has bench seating, providing a lovely spot for a quiet drink in the evening. An additional shared patio area has further seating and beautiful views over the town and towards the surrounding fells. Parking for unloading is available at the bottom of the steps. For long-term parking, a parking permit is supplied which can be used at several nearby car parks.

We loved this place. The attention to detail is exceptional. Everything you need for a few nights stay is provided. The location is also fantastic, its off street so quiet yet only yards away from all Ambleside has to offer.

The cottage was so cosy, and a brilliant size for 2 people, I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Ambleside, you are right beside all of the shops pubs ect; but when you close the door to the cottage it is so quiet. The owner very kindly left us a bottle of wine, some milk, and there were some cleaning products, also liquid hand soap, plRead moreus shampoo, conditioner, body wash, I have never stayed anywhere that was so well stocked, if I had one tiny little let down, when I booked, I didn't read the description properly, my fault entirely, there were a lot of steps up to no 4 where we were staying, and very slippy in places, but if you are careful it should be fine. This was one of the best holidays I have had. Hide

Lovely cottage, in an amazing central position in Ambleside. Although central still very quiet. We had a couple of minor issues which were dealt with quickly and efficiently by very pleasant staff.
