A stay at this holiday home near Windermere offers couples and small families a wonderful mix of lakeside relaxation and classic Lake District adventure. Venture into Windermere village itself, where you'll be spoilt for choice with an array of pubs, restaurants, takeaways and independent shops. From nearby Bowness (1.5 miles), step aboard one of the historic steamers on Lake Windermere and enjoy a circular cruise. Families with children will love The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction (1.5 miles), while thrill-seekers can head to Zip World (1.5 miles). Further afield, discover the National Trust's Hill Top (4.5 miles), Beatrix Potter's former home, or visit the Lakes Aquarium (10 miles). For a scenic walk, the impressive 70-foot waterfall at Stock Ghyll Force (4 miles) in Ambleside is well worth the visit. Keen hikers can take on Claife Heights for sweeping lake vistas or tackle the Old Man of Coniston.

From the moment you enter, there's a warm, inviting feel that instantly sets the tone for your stay. The sleek kitchen is ready for budding chefs, fitted with quality appliances and includes everything needed for a self-catering stay. Gather around the dining table to share good food and great conversation. After days spent roaming the rolling hills and lakeshores, sink into the sofa, switch on the Smart TV, or lose yourself in a good book while mapping out tomorrow's activities. The calming atmosphere continues into the bedrooms. The master bedroom is beautifully dressed with crisp white linens on a comfortable double bed, while the generous single room provides plenty of hanging storage. A gleaming shower room completes the interior.

When the sun shines, the front patio calls for leisurely al fresco meals, with views stretching across the lake and surrounding mountains. The shared grounds offer access to a play area for children and lead down to the lake. Off-road parking for two cars adds to the ease of your stay.

Fantastic scenery. Lovely cottage. Well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Bed comfortable and site was quiet and well located. Bathroom wasn't all that clean, hairs on floor and someone had wiped something on the tiles.

Nice location when you don't want to be in the middle of the busy centre of Windermere or Bowness. In a quiet location about 20 minutes walk from the centre of the village of Windermere (town). Lake Windermere is a short walk from the cottage. Beautiful unobstructed views of the lake and mountains. Free parking in spacious car park. Well-equipped Read morekitchen. Bottle of bubbles for a welcome drink. Clear explanation when booking where to be. Cozy little house, but on the small side. With 3 people you can just stay there. From the location entering the public road is sometimes dangerous (with a Dutch car) because, despite the mirror hanging there, you see cars coming badly and you are standing on a steep slope. But of course the property can't do anything about that. Hide

Exactly as described. Very close to amenities. Beautiful setting. Small place but adequate for 3 people (just!). Only complaint (as with many rentals) there wasn't enough toilet roll of dishwasher tablets for the 6 nights. Otherwise all was great
