Family visit, 5 adults and a toddler. We had a lovely time at Stanley House. Beautiful enclosed garden and outside seating.Very comfortable and well equipped .Great location. Very clean. Bassinthawaite Station, food was good but pricey, 5 min walk . Pheasant Inn 8 min walk. I would be very happy to return.

We had a lovely time. The location was perfect for us, we treated my dad to the Bassenthwaite Lake train cafe accross the road for his birthday and took the dogs on short walks round the boarded walk opposite and by the side of the lake. We visited lots of local places, Keswick, Cockermouth, Whitehaven and Workington and trotted off on some longer Read morewalks in the beautiful lake district. The house itself was spacious, kitchen and bathrooms/toilet recently modernised. The decor elsewhere was a little dated but i found that quite homely. Also it was clean and tidy- thats the main thing. Our small dogs were easily let out in back yard which was contained. It was even sunny so we managed to sit outside for a little while. One thing missing was that the listed 'Smart tv' wasnt too smart. It kept quitting Youtube as not enough memory, and only netflix app (which we didnt use), no iplayer, itvpkayer, nowtv etc. We watched a bit of live tv and played games instead so no huge problem. The kitchen was well equipped, the only minor thing was not having an oven glove! So all in all a grand time had by all. Hide

Beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped house in a great location. We had a lovely stay as a family of five (three kids ranging 3-7 years old).
