Escape with your special someone to this stylish converted stable in the market town of Ambleside. Sleeping two people in one bedroom, it's a perfect accommodation option for couples who are dreaming of a romantic retreat to call home while they explore the Lake District together. Make a beeline for Waterhead Pier (0.5 miles) and hop aboard a boat to cruise the waters of Lake Windermere – England's longest lake. Alternatively, head into the pretty village of Grasmere (4 miles) to visit Dove Cottage – the former home of the poet William Wordsworth – and sample some famously mouthwatering Grasmere gingerbread. Or head into Hawkshead (5 miles) to either see the old grammar school where Wordsworth went to school, or visit Hill Top House, where the author Beatrix Potter lived. Later in the day, come home to Ambleside to explore its great selection of shops, galleries, tea rooms and pubs.
Leave your outdoor gear in the porch and step inside this characterful former stable. You'll be greeted by a bright and cheerful open-plan lounge/snug/kitchen/dining area, where exposed timber ceiling beams and cool slate flooring create a striking modern-rustic aesthetic. Head to the sleek, farmhouse-style kitchen area to whip up some dinner to share with your special someone at the round wooden dining table. Afterwards, pour yourself a glass of wine and snuggle up to bask in the glow of the striking wood burner in the snug area. At the end of the day, climb the spiral staircase upstairs, and you'll find a large king-size bedroom complete with an en-suite bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower (please note there is no bathroom door).
While there is no outdoor space, you can experience all the charming energy of central Ambleside right from your doorstep. A parking permit for a nearby car park is provided.
