Escape with your loved ones to this lovely semi-detached cottage just 2 miles outside the picturesque town of Ambleside. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it's a perfect accommodation choice for families or groups of friends seeking a stylish semi-rural retreat to call home while they discover the untamed beauty of Cumbria together. Kick off your day with a stroll into Ambleside (2 miles) to see the famous 17th-century Bridge House spanning Stock Beck. Afterwards, walk to Stock Ghyll Force (3 miles) to witness this thundering 70-foot-tall waterfall surrounded by woodlands. Don't miss the chance to cross the top bridge, which offers amazing views over the falls below. Alternatively, head into Hawkshead (3 miles) to admire its whitewashed cottages and learn all about Beatrix Potter. Further afield, hire a row boat to venture out onto the waters of England's longest lake at Bowness-on-Windermere (8.5 miles).

Step inside and you'll discover a wonderful blend of character features and modern country styling. You'll be greeted by a gloss-finish kitchen, where you can whip up some dinner to share at the farmhouse-style dining table in the open-plan lounge/diner. Afterwards, catch up on your favourite TV shows by the glowing wood burner in the lounge area – a lovely space where traditional flagged floors and a wealth of warm oak are sure to make you feel at home. Head up the open-tread stairs and you'll find two bedrooms – a king-size with a feature fireplace, and a twin with two 2'6" single beds. A smart bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the layout.

Step into the shared garden and you'll find a lawn stretching towards rolling fields. Dine alfresco at the table, which is perfectly positioned to make the most of the views. Parking is available for three cars.

Field Cottage is a great location with easy access to walks and trails and perfect size for 2 adults or a family with 1 or 2 small children. The kitchen is well equipped and the living/lounge area is a good size. We had everything we needed. Very comfortable stay. We would definitely return in the future.

Great location for the cottage, it had everything we needed. We would certainly return at a later date No 5 star as we found the bed very uncomfortable

We have stayed in Field Cottage before and as before we found the cottage immaculate, stocked with tea coffee milk and to cap it off a very nice bottle of wine . The garden is well maintained and with garden furniture the surroundings are beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful holiday .
