The cottage is warm, comfortable and immaculately clean. Beds very comfortable with lovely bed linen and beautiful decor in bedrooms in keeping with age of this characterful cottage. Very good for walks straight from the door and easy access to Ambleside. Would recommend.

Crag Head Cottage is one of the most comfortable places weve stayed at in the Lake District (and weve stayed in a fair few!) Everything needed for an enjoyable stay is provided. The kitchen is well equipped, the place is cosy and warm, there is a smart tv in every room, and the internet is fast enough for all your needs!

Lovely old cottage. Very quiet and comfortable. Great location near to countryside walks and close enough to the town. We enjoyed our stay here.

We loved this property - was in a fantastic location for visiting lakes, National Trust places and watersports while also being near enough to the amenities of Ambleside. Exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything we needed to cook. Clear instructions for the aga so we managed to use it OK - although it did make the kitchen very hot in sRead moreuch amazingly warm weather. Great sized rooms with comfy beds. Useful to have the parking nearby and lovely garden to relax in in the evenings. Didn't want to come home and hope we can visit again. Hide

Enjoyed a fantastic week here (Aug2023). Brilliantly situated for walks into nearby Ambleside and straight onto the hills from a path right to the side of the cottage! Comfortable and well presented. Did take us a few attempts to figure out how to use the Aga, but got there in the end. Will definitely be returning at some point in the future :)

We found Crag Head Cottage to be comfortable and well equipped for our party of 4. The property is on a busy road but the cottage is well sound insulated and the walk into Ambleside is pleasant and takes about 15 minutes.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was warm and welcoming with everything we needed. Sitting room could do with more lights as a bit dark and a bigger cafettier as only 4 cup. Everything else was home from home or better

A wonderful cottage with everything on hand. The booking process and following communication was better than any other cottage holiday site I have used.

Excellent property with plenty of character and all the amenities that you would expect and hope for in a cottage. Although right next to a road that is well used during day time, it gets quiet at night. Not just Ambleside is in easy walking distance from the cottage, the walking path into the fells right next to the cottage is an absolute plus. This was our first experience of a holiday property & it exceeded our expectation. The Cottage had everything we needed to make a lovely meal for our family who travelled up after school to join us for the weekend...we managed to get the log fire working for a warm cosy welcome. I have never used an AGA, all the instructions made it easy to use. ThRead moree walk to Ambleside & Waterhead was interesting we spotted a deer one day & heard our first cuckoo of the year. Its is best to walk down the road before crossing as it is on a bend making it difficult if the traffic is busy. There is a path leading up to Loughrigg at the side of the cottage. The beds were very comfortable with electric blankets if needed and a TV in each room. Plenty of games in the cupboard which we enjoyed playing, pin the tail on the donkey was a great success with the children. All in all a very happy stay. Hide
