Located just off Cockermouth’s main street on the River Derwent, there is a great selection of local independent shops and restaurants on your doorstep. The town is the birthplace of William Wordsworth, you will find his house and gardens just 150 metres away. Enjoy a visit to the Lakes Distillery where you can book a tour or tasting session (6 miles). In the summer, there is a complimentary bus to beautiful Buttermere from the town. Walk from the centre of town to the top of Watch Hill (3.5 miles) with fabulous views across the Solway Firth to Scotland, or south to the hills and the northern valleys. Or, why not try out some bike tracks or Go Ape at Whinlatter Forest, only 7.5 miles away? The market town of Keswick is only 14 miles away and hosts the popular Mountain Festival annually with some world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks, films, and live music.

As you walk into this well-presented property you will find yourself in a small hallway which offers storage for coats and shoes. From here you will enter the bright and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The lounge has a Smart TV and a comfy corner sofa where you can look forward to relaxing after a long day out exploring. The contemporary-styled kitchen is well equipped, and you will find the dining area next to the sunroom with views over the garden. The sunroom offers a great place to sit with a good book or why not play a board game? The stairs up to the first floor lead from the lounge area. On the first floor, you will find two pretty bedrooms both with river views and Smart TVs, and a family bathroom with a large walk-in shower and WC.

Outside there is a pretty enclosed garden with seating and a patio and a tiered section with seating and views over the river. This is a great spot to read a good book, enjoy a glass of wine or have a coffee on a sunny morning.

Fisherbeck Cottage is very Clean and Comfortable with good thoughtfully, quality furnishings offering easy access to the Main Street with a fabulous garden overlooking the river. Lovely spot to feed the ducks. We loved every minute of our one week stay here and cannot wait to return.

Our second visit was just as good as our first - a stunning property in a fantastic location, very high spec, spotlessly clean and an absolute gem of a find. The garden straight on to the river is the perfect place to watch the world go by after a day out on the fells or a lazy day exploring the MANY great pubs and independent shops in this captivaRead moreting town. A lovely cottage, well located, thoughtfully designed and equipped, very clean and comfortable. The riverside terrace and main garden are quiet and private, with plenty of seating. The neighbours are friendly, and we had no problems parking on-street outside. We appreciated ample food storage space in the kitchen, a full size fridge and freezer, thRead moree lobby for boots and coats, and much more. It's homely, welcoming, and we felt very sorry to leave at the end of the week. Hide

We loved our stay here. The cottage is only a short walk into the main street. The patio at the rear has beautiful views over the river with the hetons and ducks and is so peaceful and has lovely scent of honeysuckle. The cottage has everything you need and we loved the decor and extra touches such as fresh flowers and bottle of wine.
