Fabulous base for families and friends to get together in the pretty market town of Keswick. A great base to explore the Lakes either on foot, bike, car or bus. The town is known for the local fells of Skiddaw and Blencathra, or you could conquer the stunning Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities (all within 7 miles). Skiddaw is more challenging, a slightly longer, higher walk at over 3000 feet, and on a clear day you can see for miles. Take a stroll to Derwentwater half a mile away, where there are eight jetties to sail from and you can hop on and off the boat to explore. Visit Theatre by the Lake and take in a show, then head to Crow Park which is opposite to get a 360-degree view of the mountains along with stunning views towards the exceptionally beautiful Borrowdale valley.

Set over three floors, this property has been lovingly finished to offer comfortable and practical holiday accommodation. As you step through the front door, you will find an entrance hall that leads through to the bright and comfortable lounge with a bay window, with a Smart TV, electric fire and comfortable sofas. Next door, you will find the open-plan kitchen/diner. The dining area has seating for all the parties; it’s an ideal place to catch up and contemplate the day’s activities and decide what to do next or for enjoying your favourite shows around the TV with DVD player. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas range-style cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Upstairs on the mid landing, there is a family bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. On the first floor, there is a king-size bedroom with views over the rooftops and fells! Next door there is a second king-size bedroom with a pretty bay window, and you will also find a cosy snug with sofa, TV with Smart DVD player and board games – this room will prove a hit with the younger members of your party! Head up to the second floor and you will find a pretty twin bedroom and a single bedroom. There is also a second bathroom which features a free-standing roll-top bath that sits in the centre of the room, and there is a separate shower and WC in there too.

Heading outside from the kitchen, you will find a small but pretty, enclosed yard that offers the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening drinks, in springtime enjoy the cherry blossom tree! There is lockable storage should you wish to bring your bikes or any sports equipment. There are shops, bars, and restaurants within walking distance. Although there is no private parking there is on-road parking on the street (subject to availability).

Very nice, well equipped cottage. Easy walking distance to Keswick town centre but in a quiet location. Easily accommodated seven adults, parking can be a bit of a challenge but would definitely book to stay here again.

The property was fine but smelt very musty, is dated and the neighbours were particularly unfriendly which is a shame when trying to empty a car upon arrival. On a positive note the location is good, the garden is enclosed if you are taking dogs and it is a large property.

The house was very roomy for seven of us and we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms were spotless and the two bathrooms most welcoming after a days hiking. The washing facilities and well equipped kitchen also made our stay more enjoyable. There is good wifi around the house and the location to Keswick town centre was a very short walk which Read moresaved us a lot of driving. I could easily book the same property again and would certainly recommend it to family or others. Hide

This is a wonderful house on a quiet street just 5 mins walk from the bustling heart of Keswick. We couldn't have asked for more. The house had everything we needed and more. Instructions were well placed throughout the house and everything felt very easy and relaxing. Would strongly recommend and will almost certainly be coming back.
