Featuring a light, sophisticated open-plan living area this fresh and welcoming property makes a wonderful getaway for keen walkers and nature lovers discovering the region’s magnificent lakes, quaint villages and glorious woodlands.

Entering this stylish property you will find yourself in the refreshing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Featuring a TV, plenty of seating and an electric fire, the lounge is a perfect space to settle back, chat about the day or watch a movie. You can share a fantastic family meal around the central kitchen island bar, and the kitchen itself has a wide range of equipment so you can rustle up all your favourite dishes. Upstairs, you will have a choice of two delightful, soothingly decorated bedrooms, each with king-size beds, a TV, plenty of storage space and a handy en-suite shower room. From the lounge you can step out into the spacious patio – a relaxing spot for a morning coffee as you get ready for the day’s activities.

The cottage is set between Cartmel and the picturesque village of Allithwaite (2 miles), and makes a wonderful base for experiencing the Cartmel Peninsula. Nearby attractions including Holker Hall and Gardens, Humphrey Head, Hampsfell, Predator Experience and the Lakeland Motor Museum (all within 7 miles). Cartmel is home to a steeplechase racecourse and a medieval priory, and is renowned for its fabulous variety of welcoming restaurants, cafes and pubs. Also nearby is Fell Foot (8 miles), a beautiful country park on the banks of Windermere.

Nice holiday home , would be better with a table and chairs as there is enough room for it , high chairs are not fit for purpose , heavy chair and a light base !! Base is very light Approach road is pot hole galore and you can't avoid them as road is very narrow No washing machine if you stay for a week !! Just returned from our week long break. The accommodation was very good and very comfortable and, we enjoyed our stay. Just one or two matters to consider; The distance to Cartmel is 'underplayed' in especially for anyone wishing to walk. The access road to the cottage is in need of urgent attention as there are large potholes which make driving awRead morekward/ hazardous. The icebox in the fridge should be defrosted weekly as we found it to be iced-up. Both bedrooms need an hair dryer, not just one. Hide

House is suitable for two couples. Well situated and built recently to a high standard, insulation and heating great for Autumn . En-suite bathrooms good quality and extra toilet downstairs useful. Basic furnishings downstairs , kitchen reasonable equipment . Good base for exploring local villages. Limited immediate area for dog to be off lead . No recycling bins / boxes provided. Really lovely accommodation and situated in a quiet rural setting. Ideally located for visiting Lake District towns and attractions. Perfect for 2 couples as both rooms had en-suites. We have suggested a few tweaks that we feel would enhance the property but would thoroughly recommend it and will more than likely return.

Couldn't find any fault with this cottage, lovely and clean, nicely furnished and very comfy beds and well equipped. The cottage also provided iron and ironing board and hairdryer which was not on listing. Although set amongst other farm building and cottages, didn't hear a thing. Overall very relaxing and peaceful setting. Only around 1.5 miles frRead moreom Cartmel village via country lanes. Hide

The location of the cottage was stunning, beautiful views across fields & the bay. It was spotlessly clean & holiday company was very responsive. The cottage is 1.5 miles from Cartmel. If you walk via the road it takes 25/30 mins. We preferred the cross country route (start at public footpath opp driveway) which takes you across fields, down a tracRead morek and to back of the racecourse (approx 40/45 mins). Lovely well presented house. Home from home, loved our weeks stay there. Would be more helpful if Holiday cottages showed the exact location before booking as located down a single track road, which could be a problem for some.
