Perched in a beautiful village along the edge of the North Pennines, this light and relaxing property is a fabulous holiday home for up to eight guests. Within easy reach of the northern stretches of the Lake District, this fantastic retreat offers tranquil accommodation for larger families and groups of friends experiencing the area’s unforgettable scenery. Close to a popular fishing lake, and just a few miles from Penrith, this lovely hideaway is perfectly placed for eager walkers, anglers, cyclists and nature lovers discovering the breathtaking vistas of the Eden Valley.

Entering this delightful cottage, the back hallway is a great space for leaving coats and boots, and provides a delightful space for your four-legged friend. The spacious lounge features plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a welcoming wood burner, and is ideal for sitting back and unwinding in at the end of a memorable day. Exploring further, the sociable open-plan kitchen/diner is perfect for getting together to cook and share all your favourite dishes. Going upstairs, there’s a stylish family bathroom, plus a handy additional shower room, and a choice of four cosy, fresh and relaxing bedrooms: a twin, one super-king-size room and two king-size rooms. Stepping outside, the private courtyard at the back of the property features a BBQ and a seating area, providing a lovely space to sit back and dine alfresco. The front terrace overlooks the pretty village green.

Set in the picturesque village of Blencarn, the cottage is just half a mile from a fly-fishing lake. Keen walkers can head into the Pennines, with Cross Fell nearby (5 miles). The historic market town of Penrith (10 miles) is home to the Rheged centre and the remains of Penrith Castle, or you can head into the Lake District, the nearest lake being Ullswater (15 miles).

Fabulous location, so beautiful and so quiet. Amazing cottage, beautiful inside - but so homely at the same time. The most comfortable beds, lots of space and a huge shower.

We stayed at the Barn at Blencarn Hall for 3 nights with Friends. Unfortunately we were let down with the back garden. There were no pictures of it listed anywhere, we requested this from the Owners and were told they don't have one but they can assure it is an enclosed fenced off area with seating for 8. There is a very tiny area in the back of thRead moree house with no view other than your own cars so that was a bit of a let down because the House has no grounds at all. A beautiful weeks stay in this lovely house, very well furnished and presented, we wanted for nothing, large bedrooms as well as a nice lounge, perfect for a family break. The property is a credit to the owners, comfortable and relaxed throughout, 2 bathrooms as well so well suited for a family break.

The house was lovely in a very quiet, picturesque hamlet, ideal for a three generation holiday. There were seven of us in total. The lounge was a good size for this number and the kitchen/diner too. Most useful were the utility and boot rooms downstairs. There were outside seats, but no enclosed garden. However there was an open aspect, the house oRead moreverlooking the village green. Just come back from a lovely week away here beautiful place in a very rural and quite area . Take plenty of provisions as its a drive to supermarket The barn is stunning and modern would definitely recommend to people. Will be looking at returning in the future

The Barn has been thoughtfully converted into a tasteful modern holiday cottage. We loved the: large lounge with two large comfy sofas, log burner, window seat, huge LG TV (netflix!); bedrooms are excellent; the utility room with washing machine & tumble dryer was v useful! Being able to charge our electric car was brilliant - no range anxiety! TheRead more area is lovely & only 30 mins from Ullswater. The barn is the perfect place for a relaxing break. Beautiful spacious barn conversion in as tranquil a location as you will find. The fly fishery is just a 5 minute walk from the front door and is absolutely beautiful!!! bring plenty of provisions if self catering as the nearest shops are quite a drive away along one car lanes. Will definitely be back thank you!!
