Lace up those walking boots and head 3.5 miles to Middle Fell or 2 miles to Buckbarrow for a climb rewarded with spectacular, panoramic views. The shores of Wastwater lie just 1.5 miles from your door. Wastwater is England’s deepest lake so jump on in for a wild dip. Wasdale is also home to England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, (7.5 miles). After adventurous days, treat yourself to a meal out at the local pub and have a drink or two before strolling home.

Head inside via the back door where the large utility/boot room is a wonderful place to leave outerwear. It has a washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of handy things to help you store your belongings. Underfloor heating flows throughout the home which will help to dry your muddy boots. Next to the utility room is a handy wet-room-style shower room with WC so you can freshen up with ease on returning home. Creating the hub of the home is the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. Decorated in contemporary yet characterful style, settle on the sofa or a chair in front of the wood burner to stay warm. Take a moment in front of the TV or watch a DVD to unwind. There is a small child-sized chair for little ones to make themselves comfortable. Get cooking in the kitchen with built-in double oven (the smaller top combi-oven can also act as a grill or microwave), four gas hobs, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Find all you need to cater for hungry guests in this stylish space with handy breakfast bar. Enjoy dining together at the table which has a restored pew and chairs to seat all guests. After dinner, head upstairs to rest your head in one of the inviting bedrooms. Drift off in the king-size with sloping ceiling and skylight (this shouldn’t restrict head room much), or in the characterful twin bedroom with off-set beds and sloping ceiling. The family bathroom is a wonderful place to enjoy a soak in the tub or to freshen up in the walk-in shower. The bathroom has sloping ceilings too so take care when getting in and out of the luxurious bath.

Rise and shine and take a drink outside to the partially enclosed front or rear garden where you can fill your lungs with fresh air and enjoy the views. Take a seat on the picnic bench to truly relax and admire your surroundings. There is off-road parking for two cars.

A really nice property in a super location... But it is starting to look "tired" and in need of some redecorating. Saying that we had a really good stay with lots of walking and a good pub with good food and beer just down the hill in a lovely village.
