After dinner, you can head through to the cosy lounge which is a perfect space for you all to sit back in front of the wood burner, watch a movie on the Smart TV or chat late into the night. Heading upstairs you will have a choice of three charming bedrooms, all decorated in light, relaxing shades and featuring sloping ceilings with exposed beams: there’s a pretty double room overlooking the village; a second double with a feature fireplace and lovely scenery; and a third bedroom which is a twin, particularly suitable for children. There’s also a stylish family bathroom.
The village of Braithwaite has some great places to eat and drink, including a restaurant next to the cottage. Heading into Keswick (2.5 miles), popular attractions include the Puzzling Place, the Alhambra Cinema, Derwent Pencil Museum and the Theatre by the Lake on the northern shore of Derwentwater. Also nearby are Castlerigg Stone Circle, Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, and Mirehouse and Gardens on the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake (all within 7.5 miles).
