To make the most of your holiday, why not spend family afternoons on Coniston Water where you can hire paddleboards, kayaks or take a trip on the National Trust’s Victorian steam yacht gondola (1 mile). Children will also love the many walking trails at Grizedale Forest (7 miles) or the tree trail at Fell Foot Park (17 miles) at the southern tip of Lake Windermere. Fans of children's books mustn't miss the opportunity to delve into the World of Beatrix Potter (13 miles), who was once a guest at the holiday property, while any historians in the group might prefer to explore the imposing Wray Castle (7 miles).
