Straight out of a fairy tale, this enchanting stone cottage at the heart of a sleepy village boasts gorgeous views of the Lythe. Bursting with period features, your holiday accommodation is a delightful haven for relaxing after a day of adventures and sleeps four guests across two bedrooms. Step down into the open-plan living space to discover a comforting retreat with original beamed ceilings, wooden pillars and classic furniture. Pour a glass of wine and unwind on the sofas, or cook together in the country-cottage-style kitchen area using locally sourced ingredients and artisan produce. The farmhouse-style table has plenty of space for family meals and board games, or dine al fresco outside in the shared garden with sizzling BBQ treats. At bedtime, climb the stairs to enjoy a long soak in the pretty bathroom before retiring to one of two inviting bedrooms. There is off-road parking for two cars, and shared laundry facilities are available nearby.

Soak up the atmosphere and indulge in a spot of retail therapy in Kendal, a bustling market town brimming with independent shops, art galleries and eateries. Easily reached within 6.5 miles, there’s plenty to amuse guests with all tastes and interests, as Kendal has a vibrant culture characterised by art galleries, museums and galleries. Marvel at the ruins of Kendal Castle, learn about the area’s rich wool trade history and take a moment to reflect in the ancient parish church. Further afield, Cartmel village, 13 miles away, is known for its 12th-century priory, famous cheese shop and tantalising selection of restaurants, ranging from traditional pubs to Michelin-star restaurants.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we had everything provided that we could ask for. There were 3 of us which was fine, it may have been a bit crowded for 4 people.

Lovely mid cottage set in beautiful gardens. Hosts were super helpful and great to chat with. Although you'll need a car as a little remote, there's a pub about 100 metres from the door. Very handy for trips to Keswick and Windermere.

A lovely character cottage with a homely feel and in a superb location far enough away from the busy tourist zones to feel in nature but well located to explore all the great fells and towns. An attractive historic building in a beautiful location. Perfectly situated for exploring the Southern Lakes and with the added bonus of being close to many first class restaurants. Can't recommend too highly.

Lovely cosy cottage in ideal location to explore the Lakes. Stayed for 5 nights - me and my wife, and our two boys (15 & 11) plus two dogs. Hosts are lovely, great pub round the corner. Cottage has everything you need and felt at home immediately. Even the dogs were very happy. Would love to return again.

Lovely little cottage with all the home comforts. Cracking location and extremely quiet. Ok if dogs don't mind mixing if others are in shared garden. Many nice dog friendly pubs about. Thinking of returning already

Great cottage however the shared garden can be a little bit of a pain when you have a dog which is not particularly dog friendly and owners dogs came to window and would bark however they are friendly dogs when outside with them!

The Cottage is a great little find. It's Cosy, but has everything we needed for a week's stay in the Lakes. We are a family of four with a dog and we had no problem fitting in the place. The steps / small door to the garden would be a challenge to someone who's unsteady, but you can get round the side. When we arrived there was one dishwasher tab, Read more3 laundry tabs, some instant coffee, cooking oil spray and a pint of milk. The nearest shop is a good drive, so do take anything else you might need. Hide
