The enchanting wilderness of the Lake District is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway with the one you love, and this cosy cottage at the heart of a Cumbrian village is the ideal base for your adventures. Located in the sleepy village of Lindale, you’ll be well placed to enjoy scenic walks across Cartmel Fell and along the estuary of Grange-over-Sands. Return from your explorations and light the wood burner, snuggling up with a glass of wine in hand and a good film on the TV.

Beneath the rose-clad exterior is a charming haven characterised by traditional beams, classic furniture and soothing details, accessed via a set of stone steps. Inside, the open-plan living space is warmed throughout by a roaring wood burner, which creates a peaceful setting for relaxing. Cook up a storm in the kitchen and feast by candlelight, rounding off with a nightcap on the sofas. Climb the open-tread stairs to the first floor to find the gorgeous double bedroom, dressing room, and contemporary shower room. There is a small front garden with bench seating for stargazing, and space to park one car.

Prepare your taste buds for a culinary adventure, selecting the finest produce from Cartmel’s famous cheese shop, 4.5 miles away, or savouring the artisan bakes at the popular bakery at Grange-over-Sands, 2.5 miles away. There are plenty of restaurants to tempt aspiring foodies, especially around the local area surrounding Cartmel, best enjoyed after a bracing walk to stimulate the senses. Lace up your boots and marvel at the breathtaking scenery as you scale the imposing Whitbarrow Scar, 4.5 miles away, looking down over the quaint village of Witherslack before perhaps venturing down to the friendly pub for some warming ale.

Welcome pack was very nice. Unfortunately its no good for tall people as upstairs was difficult, also the shower. You cant help it, but the cockerel is a pain first thing in the morning. Wi-Fi and televisions are good. Dressing gowns, nice touch.

A great small cottage to use as a base to discover the south peninsular of the lakes and beyond. Before visiting a lot of reviews stated the cottage was cold, I can confirm this isnt the case at all, extremely warm and we had to turn some of the radiators down. This is a beautiful quaint cottage which is a mixture of olde world and modern. High quality furniture and accessories. Modern bathroom and kitchen, with toiletries, handwash and cleaning products provided. Heating switched on upon arrival which was a bonus and cottage stayed warm throughout my stay. Log burner added to the cosy ambience. Stairs arRead moree very steep so care needs to be taken when descending, especially with elderly guests or people with mobility issues. Overall a cosy cottage but takes a lot of heating to keep it warm. You need to use the log burner to maintain the heat even with the central heating on. Make sure you bring plenty of logs, fire lighters, kindling and paper as none are supplied.
