This property is perfect for family gatherings and celebrations , including multi-generations of families who will truly benefit from a stay here making memories to last a lifetime. The property is situated in a quiet location in the Cumbrian countryside, surrounded by beautiful scenery which makes it perfect for those who like nothing more than enjoying relaxing walks. Cycle routes pass the front of the property. The edge of the Lake District National Park lies just three miles north of the cottage, with the nearest lake being Windermere nine miles away. On the southern tip of the lake, Lakeside Pier is the departure point for a range of cruises and ferries including those to Fell Foot, Bowness, and Waterhead. Two miles south of the property, the market town of Ulverston is a vibrant place offering a good range of shops and pubs, as well as being the birth place of Stan Laurel and home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum. The Cartmel Races is a fabulous day out with 9 race days from May to August.

Upon entering this beautiful cottage, guests come directly to a mid-level snug room, a welcoming and cosy space which has a warming woodburner, and a Smart TV surrounded by comfortable sofas and armchairs. Stairs leading from the snug room bring guests down to the stunning kitchen/diner which not only has a large dining table, but is also well-equipped with a Range oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer, as well as some thoughtful extras including a slow cooker, nespresso machince, nutribullet and sandwich maker. The first of the property’s five bedrooms is situated just off the kitchen, a delightful twin room which can be made up as a super-king on request at the time of booking.  Back up to the snug, the stairs from here lead up to the second lounge, an elegant dual-aspect room from which doors open onto the wooden balcony. A second twin can be found off the lounge, whilst the remaining three bedrooms are on the upper-levels of the house. The first of these sits at the top of a cast iron spiral staircase where there is also a bathroom with a bath, separate shower, and WC. The remaining two bedrooms are on the top floor of the house, 1 double and 1 king size are also accessed via a spiral staircase, the king-sized also bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. Finally, another bathroom can be found a few steps down from the snug room, a stylish room with a contemporary feel, offering a free-standing double ended bath, a walk in shower and twin wash basins.

Outside, the property enjoys a thoughtfully designed landscaped garden with a spacious terrace which, with its garden furniture is a great space to enjoy al fresco dining. Overlooking the garden, there is a wooden balcony which provides guests with a lovely spot to relax with a sundowner in the evenings. There is off-road parking available for five cars.

Lovely cottage for a Christmas family get together- there was 10 of us and it didnt feel cramped. Very well equipped and good location- would definitely recommend

We had a lovely stay at Heron Beck. The cottsge is very homely, easily fitting 10 people without feeling cramped. The facilities were great and we wouldnt have changed a thing. Joy made contact before hand to check everything was okay. Thank you!

Heron Beck is a lovely, spacious home with comfortable bedrooms & bathrooms with excellent linen & towels. It was so good to be back with our extended family for a second time to this interesting house with its three floors interlinked by the fascinating spiral staircase; a fine balcony on which to relax & a spacious kitchen to gather at mealtimes.Read more The surrounding countryside is outstanding yet close to the amenities of Ulverston (especially Booths) & is a great gateway further into the Lakes. Stayed for a long weekend at Heron Beck and had a brilliant time. The house is really beautiful, very well presented, clean and comfortable, the decor and finishing touches make this a really lovely holiday cottage to stay in. The location is great just 2 miles out of Ulverstone and we used Pauls Taxis when we didnt want to drive. Fourth visit, so must be good! Location is the thing, outside the national park, but easily accessible to it, it is handy for the southern lakes as well as the facilities of Ulverston e.g. Booths. A spacious and very well equipped house with modern bathrooms. The kitchen is large and comfortably seats eight people. We also enjoyed using the fireplace. The location is beautiful.

9 of us recently stayed, a lovely quite location, but easy to get to Ulverston, Coniston, etc. We all loved the second lounge area, which can all fit in comfortably, with a nice CD Player, so take some Cd's with you, but a few were provided. The kitchen has plenty of room for all to be seated together, all rooms are nicely decorated etc, and bathroRead moreoms nice. We had 5 cars, and would say at least room for another. A couple of friends brought electric bikes and kept around back. Great property. Hide

This is our second time staying in this beautiful house, and we enjoyed it just as much as our first visit . Lovely comfortable property in a fabulous, quiet location.
