Set in a tranquil village at the southern end of the Rusland Valley, this light, charming and romantic cottage makes a lovely retreat for a couple or a small family eager to explore the southern part of the Lake District. With Windermere just 4 miles away, the secluded village of Bouth is a fantastic holiday base for keen walkers and cyclists. Offering delightful accommodation for three guests, the cottage has miles of spectacular walks and cycle trails right from the door.

 

Stepping into the cottage, you will find a delightful lounge with a traditional wood burner set in an inglenook along an exposed stone wall. A step leads up into the bright and fresh dining room which is a perfect spot for a romantic meal which you can cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Two cosy and coolly decorated bedrooms can be found upstairs: a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a charming single room. There’s also a stylish bathroom complete with bath. The enclosed back garden is ideal for a BBQ or a glass of wine in the evening.

 

The tranquil village of Bouth has a friendly pub and is perfect for guests seeking an idyllic base for exploring the Lake District. Windermere is to the north-east (4 miles), with Coniston Water (6 miles) and Esthwaite Water (9.5 miles) to the north. Heading south, the village of Cartmel (9 miles) has a range of boutique shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as a medieval priory, heritage centre and plenty of charm. The thriving town of Ulverston is within easy reach (6 miles). Numerous other attractions in this beautiful area include The Old Man of Coniston (12 miles), South Lakes Safari Zoo (9.5 miles), Grizedale Forest (8 miles) and Holker Hall and Gardens (6.5 miles).

Nice and comfortable but not very clean in places Well equipped. A shame there is no parking outside property as opens onto a busy through road.

Lovely cottage. In a lovely peaceful village. Cottage had everything you need in it. Lovely views from bedroom / bathroom. Dog friendly . Lovely well kept enclosed garden. A lovely cottage, where we stayed with our daughter and dog for a week this August. Beautiful little village, with a cracking pub and a relatively close shop at Newby Bridge. The cottage is located off the beaten track. There are a couple of places nearby that sell lovely free range eggs but for more extensive shopping, Ulverston has a nice supermarket on its outskirts a few miles along the road which can supply all your needs. An absolute gem of a holiday cottage, immaculately clean, impeccably stocked with every item you could possibly need and more. A very cosy cottage, with a high spec just like being at home but in the beautiful lakes, dont hesitate to book.

Lovely comfortable cottage up a quiet lane with view across fields pretty enclosed garden safe for dog. Pub dog friendly throughout and decent pub grub. Great location , loads to do, we enjoyed the coast as well as lakes. Walks at High Dam, Tarn Hows, Gunners How, Elterwater. Visited.Lakeland Motor Museum & cafe. We have stayed at 2 Kiln Houses a few times. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. An enclosed garden for our dog was great. And a smart TV for evenings at home was a nice bonus. We would stay there again. There are lovely views across fields from the front windows and walks to rolling countryside from the door. Bouth is a pretty and welRead morel kept village. I have rated it 4 stars for value for money, but that may not be fair as I have not seen all of its competitors. Hide

What a gem of a cottage! Cosy, comfy and inviting, with plenty of space for the two of us and our doggo. It really felt like home from home. The location is outstanding and we had a great time exploring the local area as well as going on day trips to Coniston, Windermere and Barrow-in-Furness.

Location amazing, cleanliness poor. Stained bed sheets with hairs on arrival. Wet paint , not notified about. The floor turned our childs feet black with the grime, I couldnt put him down on it all week. Hot tap in bathroom out of use. Hand Towel rail empty, discovered not attached to the wall. Stepped on someones used contact lens in bedroom. ContRead moreact changed the sheets, helpful but unable to clean the floor any better. Kitchen utensils had food on. Great location in the South Lakes. Everything you need for a short break. Very cosy and comfortable. The White Hart pub in the village was good but the food at The Manor Housw OxenPark was superb. A great little cottage
