The Mews - Capplerigg, Kentmere
We have just spent a wonderful week at 'The Mews' at Capplerigg and also had a most enjoyable week at 'Ducklings Retreat' near Cartmel last September. Both weeks have been excellent in terms of the standard of accommodation and location (despite the weather on both occasions!). Capplerigg in particular was a truly stunning location with amazing views and such a beautiful house, which was very comfortable and homely. Being a Conservation Officer I was very pleased to see that the owner has not succumbed to the desire to install plastic windows /doors or inappropriate extensions etc and has maintained the original character and appearance of the house, which is an intrinsic part of its charm.

We would like to thank the Lakeland Cottage Company, as although we have only visited two of your properties, we consider that the standard is very high. I would also like to compliment you on your excellent web-site, which is user friendly, well illustrated and very informative. We are hoping to book again for next year, in due course.

We have just returned from a week in Cartmel, where we stayed in Causeway House.We just wanted to let you know that we were absolutely delighted with the cottage, and the service that we have had from your company. Causeway House was just lovely. There were only four of us staying, so we had a phenomenal amount of space and comfort. The property itself was immaculate and clean, and served as a fantastic base for our stay in the Lake District. The only challenge that we faced was cooking on the Rayburn, however, this just gave us an excuse to dine out!The owners of the cottage also arranged for one of their friends to drop by on our first morning there with wine, beer, cheese and bread from the local shops, which we thought was very thoughtful and generous - what a really lovely touch.Thank you very much for the first class service, and we won't hesitate to contact you again, if we are looking for cottages in the Lake District. Kind regards." Karen and Tom Allan - 21 April 2012
