Please note it is best to use these written directions rather than trusting to 'Sat Nav' as this can often bring you into the area on convoluted route causing confusion, not the easiest start to your holiday.

From junction 36 on the M6 take A591 through towards Windermere then on to Ambleside. From Ambleside take the A593 to Coniston all the way into the village centre (approx. 7 miles from Ambleside). Once in Coniston Centre, Barclays Bank will face you, turn left signed for Hawkshead and Brantwood. If travelling to Coniston from the south ie: Greenodd, Barclays Bank will be on the right hand side, as you come over the bridge, the main road swings to the left, but you need to carry straight on, effectively turning onto the road signed for Hawkshead and Brantwood. Follow this road all the way out of the village past the Waterhead Hotel shortly after which you will start to drive alongside the lake. At the head of the lake, take the right hand turn signed to Brantwood and East of the Lake. Follow this lane for approx. 1/4 mile. Townson Ground is the first house on the left, the entrance to the carpark is immediatley after the house.

If arriving after dark it is advisable to bring a torch.
