Nestled to the south-west of Lake Windermere surrounded by woodland and little streams, this charming cottage is perfect for you and your guests. Sleeping four over two tranquil bedrooms, this characterful property is an opportunity to escape it all in a remote location in one of the best-loved areas of the Lake District. Take a stroll around the village’s local church (1 mile), or head 300 metres further to the National Trust’s Stott Park Bobbin Mill to take in the peace and quiet of this beautiful area.
High vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and wooden flooring bring this cottage’s rustic attraction to life. Dine at the antique dining table in the open-plan living space, looking out towards an impressive bookcase and beautiful spiral staircase before retiring to the lounge to curl up on the sofas and chat in front of the fire. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time as you sit among the country-style furnishings and soft lighting. Down some steps, cook up breakfast in the delightful farmhouse-style kitchen and enjoy views of the garden as you eat in the conservatory. At the end of the day, take an indulgent soak in the freestanding bath in the bathroom among soft, pastel tones.
When you’ve explored the stunning garden and discovered the small beck that courses down over little waterfalls, head out to Lake Windermere. Fell Foot Park (3 miles) is ideal for children to let off some steam, but they also host bat walks at night-time for all the family. Head up to Windermere Canoe and Kayak (8.5 miles) and paddle on the lake for as long as you like. On dry land, there are multi-ability trails at Grizedale Forest (10 miles) and to the peak of the Old Man of Coniston (13 miles) which provides spectacular views of the lake.
