No 2 Summer Hill is just as good as the pictures and marketing suggests! The location is excellent, a perfect base from which to explore the Lakes and the perfect retreat from the pace of everyday life. Coniston and Windermere Lakes just a short drive away and the coast just a short drive in the opposite direction. The apartment has all the luxuries of home and eating in was so simple with the fully equipped kitchen. Sitting on the terrace enjoying the morning and evening sunshine and views of the gardens made breakfast and dinner all the more tasty. The comfortable bed and great quality linen means a good nights' sleep is assured, that and the peace and tranquillity of the location of course. This was our first holiday in the UK for some time but staying here has already prompted us to start looking for our next opportunity! Joining instructions were spot on and the basics of cleanliness and maintenance were met without fail. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and with any luck we will book again!

The Apartment was as advertised, and truly 5* in every respect.  It was spotless and the little touches of luxury such as bathrobes, Aveda toiletries etc., just topped off our stay.  We have wasted no time in sharing our experiences with family and friends who have checked out your website already.  We intend to spread the word, and certainly intend to return some time in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this luxurious, stylish and comfortable apartment.  It is beautifully finished and appointed with an extremely well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful touches such as excellent speakers and lovely AVEDA toiletries.  After a long drive from London, we particularly appreciated the welcome hamper with prosecco, biscuits and tea and coffee (especially the prosecco!).  The apartment is just as it looks in the photographs -  if not even nicer!-  and is very spacious, light and airy. Summer Hill House is well located for exploring the Southern Lake District, being only a 20-minute drive from Coniston and even closer to the southern tip of Lake Windermere.  The house and grounds are tranquil and beautiful and made for a very relaxing and restorative stay.  We would very much like to return.

we were totally overwhelmed by the beautifully appointed apartment which is set in the most stunningly tranquil gardens surrounded by colourful rhododendron bushes. The furnishings and fittings are of the highest standard and the extra touches (the Aveda products, the wool rugs, the Bose wireless speaker) are better than I have experienced in the loveliest of hotels. My partner and I spent time discovering the area but equally enjoyed spending time in the apartment and enjoying some much needed relaxation and peace. I would definitely recommend Summer Hill for a couple who are keen to get away from the stresses of everyday life. Loved every minute of our stay and felt very spolit!

We would highly recommend Summerhill House garden apartment 2. It is stunning apartment mixing historic character with high quality modern fittings and furnishings, is well equipped, spotlessly clean and was very comfortable accommodation. It is set within beautiful peaceful grounds offering a relaxing retreat.  The apartment is well located within easy drive of the rest of the Lakes and we also enjoyed visiting other places outside the National Park including the pretty Cartmel village and Grange over Sands with its lovely promenade walk.     Overall we would give the accommodation 10 out of 10. We also highly rate The Lakeland Cottage Company. This is the second time we have booked accommodation with yourselves and the handling of our booking has been very professional and efficient and we would not hesitate to book with you again.

We had a fantastic long weekend at Summer Hill. The preparatory emails were clear and helpful, and the description and photos of the apartment were full and complete, but it was still a thrill to walk into the pristine accommodation which exceeded our expectations in every way. We've been raving about it to others so who knows :) ...... And you can be sure that, if we're coming to the Lakes again we'll be booking through the Lakeland Cottage Company without a shadow of a doubt.
