Rose cottages 1&2 are a pair of 17th century cottages in the sleepy village of Bouth which

can trace back to the reign of Edward 1 in the 13 th century their antiquity is an integral

part of the charm and character of the cottages and village

Pre arrival

All enquiries, bookings etc, are handled by Lakeland cottage co ( LCC ) who have an

excellent website and provide comprehensive information on the cottages and their


The nearest bus stop is on the main road ( A590) approximate 2 miles away

The nearest train stations are Ulverston or grange-0- sands both approximate 8 miles


The nearest taxi service is 2 miles away at back barrow, there is a firm called

blue works taxis but they are not a large operation and at peak times prior booking is

Greenodd village is approx. 2.6 miles and a 7 min drive from the cottage and provides the

Parking is side by side for rose 1&2 on the inclined track leading to the cottages

Access to the cottages is by the wrought iron gate 34/86 cm wide reached by two

steps-10/25 cm s & 6/15 cm high.

There are then 7 shallow steps of 5/13 cm s to the steps to rose 1.

The path is 35/89 cm s wide narrowing to 25/64 cm at one point ( at foot level)

Heating throughout the cottage is provided by state of the art thermostatically controlled

electric heaters which are programmable by the guest adding to their comfort

An upright freezer is also provided here if needed in addition to the kitchen freezer box in
