Introduction

Rose cottages 1&2 are a pair of 17th century cottages in the sleepy village of Bouth which

can trace back to the reign of Edward 1 in the 13 th century their antiquity is an integral

part of the charm and character of the cottages and village

Pre arrival

All enquiries, bookings etc, are handled by Lakeland cottage co ( LCC ) who have an

excellent website and provide comprehensive information on the cottages and their

facilities.

The nearest bus stop is on the main road ( A590) approximate 2 miles away

The nearest train stations are Ulverston or grange-0- sands both approximate 8 miles

away

The nearest taxi service is 2 miles away at back barrow, there is a firm called

blue works taxis but they are not a large operation and at peak times prior booking is

advisable

Greenodd village is approx. 2.6 miles and a 7 min drive from the cottage and provides the

The nearest supermarket is Booths which is approx. 5.3 miles from the cottages 10 min

Parking is side by side for rose 1&2 on the inclined track leading to the cottages

Access to the cottages is by the wrought iron gate 34/86 cm wide reached by two

steps-10/25 cm s & 6/15 cm high.

There are then 7 shallow steps of 5/13 cm s to the steps to rose 1.

The path is 35/89 cm s wide narrowing to 25/64 cm at one point ( at foot level)

The cottage door is 31/79 cm s Wide 68/175cm high and leads directly into the lounge/

dining room

From the lounge 1door 28/72cm wide 71/180 high leads directly into the kitchen

2 door 24/60cm wide 71/180 cm high leads directly into the bathroom

3 door 24/60cm wide 71/180 high leads to the stairs

Heating throughout the cottage is provided by state of the art thermostatically controlled

electric heaters which are programmable by the guest adding to their comfort

Front door leading into the lounge/dining room which has a 2 seater settee and 2 separate

easy chairs,

The decor is sympathetic to the age of the cottage and in-keeping with the character,of the

cottage.

An upright freezer is also provided here if needed in addition to the kitchen freezer box in

the fridge.

the bedroom door is 29/73 cm wide by 73/185cm high

King size bed is 24/61cm high with 39/99 cm free space each side and 23/58cm between

bed foot and free-standing double pine wardrobe.

Storage comprises of double pine wardrobe and freestanding 5 drawer unit

The height from floor to the top of the bath is 24/60 cm electric shower controls over the

The up stairs toilet is accessed from the landing door- 27/69 cm wide opens outwards and

provides 16/41 cm space in front of the Toilet pan.

The handbasin is set into the window recess at 30/76 cm high.

The outside toilet (1st door on the left as you enter through the gate) has a handbasin at

37/94 cm high door opens outwards and provides 42cm in front of the toilet pan.

Self-catering kitchen

kitchen is u- shaped with built-under fridge and freezer box and electric single oven. All

worktops at 35/90 cm high and free space between units is 32/81cm. There are no wall

units.
