Please note it is best to use these written directions rather than trusting to “Sat Nav” or “Google” directions as these can often bring you into the area on a convoluted route causing confusion, not the easiest start to your holiday.

If approaching from the M6, exit at junction 40 (Penrith) and take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A66 (sign posted Keswick, Workington and Ullswater). At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A592 (sign posted Ullswater and Stainton). Follow this road for 3 1/2 miles down to T- junction at the side of Ullswater. Turn right, still on the A592 and continue with the lake on your left, past the Brackenrigg Inn on your right and down the hill. At the bottom of the hill turn right (sign posted Longthwaite and Watermillock Church) and go up the hill for about 1/4 mile. There is a drive on the right hand side and a sign for Low Longthwaite Farm. The entrance is slightly set back from the road on the right hand side of a sharp left hand bend. (A picture of the entrance from the road is enclosed).

If approaching from the south Lakes, you will come over Kirkstone Pass on the A592. This road passes through Patterdale and Glenridding. Follow the road with Ullswater on your right.About 5 1/2 miles from Glenridding there is a left turn (sign posted Longthwaite and Watermillock Church). Go up the hill for about 1/4 mile. There is a drive on the right hand side and a sign for Low Longthwaite Farm. The entrance is slightly set back from the road on the right hand side of a sharp left hand bend.
