Ash Cottage

Overview

Ash Cottage lies in the village of Bouth, noted for one of Cumbria's best pubs, The White Hart Inn. The location makes for easy exploration of the southern lakes and the rolling low fells and meadows of the peninsulas and the south lakes coast.

Adjoining Ash Cottage we also have Yew Tree Cottage where Ash is second of a little row of four. Set on a very quiet narrow lane, a stones throw from the White Hart, this little retreat offers guests a comfortable holiday home in which to relax after a days exploration.

The Living Spaces

You step into a small lower hall with stairs that take you up into the the open plan living space. Set under heavy oak beams and a pitched ceiling you have to one end a comfortable sitting-room. This leads through to the dining and kitchen area. The combination works very well, all being well furnished and perfect to both relax and wine and dine.

Large glazed doors lead out to a small patio garden, where you can enjoy a drink or meal on a warm summers day.

The laundry facilities are housed in the garage which has internal access. Although not used for car parking, it does offer bike storage along with storage for your luggage and bits and bobs.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

There are two bedrooms, the first is on the lower floor and furnished with a double bed, along with the bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and WC. There is also a small dressing room, also perhaps suitable for a cot - please note there is no bed in this room.

The second bedroom lies off of the sitting room, again with a double bed and comfortably furnished along with an en-suite shower room, basin and WC.

Garden Spaces

French doors from the kitchen area open out to a small terraced patio garden, ideal to relax, enjoy a glass or two and watch the abundant bird life that visits.

Out & About

Bouth is a popular village. The location gives easy access to the southern fells and lakes as well as the coastal areas of the Cartmel Peninsular. A quiet peaceful place it boasts one of the best pubs, The White Hart Inn, serving excellent ales and hearty pub grub.

Guest Reviews

Excellent cottage, have enjoyed our stay immensely, so comfortable and everything to hand, as for the weather perfect!  The icing on the cake, thank you very much.
Jean and John Stow - Luton Bedfordshire.

Lovely cottage, nice views to the front, it was so comfortable staying here and with some gorgeous walks.
The Archers - Stockport.

A great base to explore the lakes, there was so much to do we didn’t make full use of the cottage and its lovely garden it will have to wait until our next visit. Dinner at L’Enclume was magical, world class.  The facilities in the cottage were everything we needed and more, thank you.
The Botterills - Maidenhead.
