Overview

This cosy Lake District cottage is located in the village of Bouth, noted for the White Hart, one of Cumbria’s best pubs. The location makes for easy exploration of the lakes and the rolling meadows of the peninsulas and the south lakes coast.

The middle of three traditional Lake District terraced cottages, No 2 Kiln Houses, along with our other holiday cottage Kiln Cottage, offers a perfect holiday retreat for two to three guests. Situated on a quiet backwater lane, with views across pasture, it is a short walk from the Inn.

Cosy in winter, with the added joy of an open fire and, where for summer months there is a small enclosed garden to relax and enjoy a bit of down time.

The Living Spaces

You step into a welcoming sitting room, dressed with prints, soft lighting, heavy fabrics and two plump sofas, all set around a log burning stove. A step leads up to the dining room, which in turn opens out to an enclosed sunny garden.

The kitchen is amply equipped for preparing either just a light lunch, or sumptuous candle lit dinner.

Bedrooms & Baths

Upstairs are the two bedrooms. The master double has a king size bed. The single is comfortable, suited both to a child or third adult.

The bathroom offers a little extra luxury with a whirlpool bath, where you can lie back and relax tired muscles after a day on the fell. There is also a seperate shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.

Out & About

Bouth lies four miles to the west of Lake Windermere, at the southern end of the Rusland Valley. Popular with visitors for a peaceful setting among low fells and one of the best pubs in the Lakes Disrict, it is away from the busy crowds, offering pretty local walks and cycle rides where you can explore the country lanes and visit the deer park. South lies the Cartmel Peninsular and Cartmel village, pretty as a picture, home to the Cartmel Races and real foodies paradise with a huge selection of venues including the famous L'Enclume.

Your Say

Just a quick note to say we had a great time at 2 Kiln house at the weekend and will definitely be back next year. It was a lovely, quiet setting which was just what we needed, We loved the Pub's beer, food and everyone we met were really friendly.
Thanks again - Ian and Mary

We have had a lovely week in this fantastic and comfortable cottage. The village is set in such wonderful countryside - we particularly enjoyed taking our 6 month old on the Bluebell Wood walk. We were very luck with the weather. The ales at the local pub were top notch. did a couple of walks in the Grizedale Forest - a lovely place to visit and the visitors centre has a great cafe with AMAZING cakes - chocolate and Guiness can be highly recommended. Thanks for a great holiday.
Suzanne, Iain and Eve.
