As we do not offer or sell cancellation insurance to our guests, we do advise they seek some form of cancellation cover and or travel policy which will at least cover them for the total value of the holiday rental plus any other purchases made via The Lakeland Cottage Company. For overseas guests we suggest you arrange cover in your home country.
Guests should be sure that any policy taken out covers all eventualities including; travel and road conditions as owners are not liable for circumstances that may prevent your accessing the property. Also, owners are not liable for any loss of utility services such as electric, gas or mains water supplies; this also includes interruption to broadband internet connections.
Please note: Should the hirer (i.e. the person who made the reservation and is contractually responsible for it) have to cancel their holiday they will be liable to loose any deposit payment, as a minimum this includes the rental deposit and administration fee. Also, depending on the time of cancellation they may be liable for or loose any balance paid or owing. Cancellations will only be processed following receipt of written instruction from the hirer (by email or post). - see Terms & Conditions.
