Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the Museum Of Life - Kendal

The pride of Kendal we love this gallery, a beautiful Georgian listed building set on the River Kent. The gallery has a fine permanent collection of historic, modern and contemporary art, as well as hosting a series of temporary exhibitions, the likes of Sean Sculley and the Boyle Family.

Located in the old stables is the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry, a facinating walk through time where visits can be coordinated between the two venues.

Blackwell The Arts And Craft House

This incredible house was built by architect MH Baillie Scott as a holiday home overlooking Windermere for his client Sir Edward Holt. Considered a masterpiece of twentieth-century design it is a perfect example of the Arts & Crafts Movement.

The house and gardens are a joy to tour and admire the craftsmanship of the interior with its inglenooks, minstrel gallery along with all of the fine detail of the fixtures and fittings. The gardens can be appreciated as intended along with the commissioned sculptures and the view magnificent where in summer you can enjoy a slice of cake and coffee on the terrace.
