Nestled in its own private 4-acre grounds with private drive on the edge of the riverside sits Willow Mill, a very spacious converted mill dating back to the 1800s, one of six mills that supported the market town of Penrith only ½ a mile away. Willow Mill, once two properties, have been combined creating one luxury dwelling, with quirky corners to sit back and get lost in a book, play a board game there are plenty to choose from, or enjoy views over the paddock onto the river. The hub of the home is the kitchen, with a five oven Aga and lots of cupboard space, American style fridge/freezer and dishwasher, who wants to wash up when they’re on holiday! Enjoy your breakfast at the breakfast bar or open plan dining room hosting a large dining table for all to gather together and plan your day ahead. Take a trip to Keswick just a 25-minute drive away or take a boat trip or the steamer across Ullswater lake stopping off to explore, only 10 minutes away, all within easy reach. Enjoy a meal down at the local pub with its beer garden, just a 5-minute stroll away. There are many attractions in the area - too many to mention.

Many eateries restaurants and shops on your doorstep minutes away by car, or you can walk in 10 – 15 minutes.

The Victorian side of the property hosts a down stairs twin bedroom, you can also find a wet room on the ground floor, a huge typical Victorian hallway with panelling, upstairs you will find on the half landing a family bathroom with rolltop iron bath watch the stars whilst you soak and relax, also walk in shower. Back downstairs through the door you enter the country cottage style area of this home, the hub …. the kitchen with open plan dining room and the warmth of the gas burning stove, hosting a large table to seat all, a large open living room with lots of space, you will find up on the gallery another double bedroom and shower room, a living area with tv, and another quite area for reading or just watching the river roll by. Just off the living room you will enter a large conservatory, hosting a seating area overlooking the court yard, a farm table for children to enjoy with tractors and animals, there’s a pool table, a darts board, a gaming table with 60 retro games for those that can remember …. Pacman, space invaders or donkey-kong. There is large wall mounted tv with full sky package, and a bar with bar stools all to yourselves, concertina doors that open out onto another patio area where you will find a table tennis table, and looking straight onto a full sized tennis court.

The playroom hosts a Wii, Wii –U, and Xbox Kinect 360, two large screen TVs. Rally around on the Ferrari driving steering wheel and chill out with a selection of DVDs, and an abundance of board games. Take a stroll in the woods to spot the woodpeckers and tree creepers, listen out for the shriek of the heron that flies up the river every evening. The swans often sail by too, taking a trip from Pooley Bridge just up the road. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

There are hammocks to use should you wish to relax down by the river, or maybe a spot of fishing. A climbing frame with slides, and a huge sand pit for the little ones in the summer months, all within the private grounds.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
