Satisfy your thirst for adventure amongst the spectacular Cumbrian countryside, choosing this attractive lodge as the base for your adventures. Set just 8 miles from historic Penrith with its castle ruins and an array of shops and eateries, your accommodation sleeps four and is ideally placed for exploring. Whether you are strolling around the shores of stunning Ullswater or taking to the water by boat, you’ll relish the prospect of returning to soak in your private hot tub with a glass of wine.

Bright, spacious and homely, the interior of the lodge is tailored to relaxing in style and features cosy details such as a flame-effect electric fire and a welcome pack provided by the owners. Rustle up tantalising treats in the kitchen and gather around the table for special dinners, retiring to the sofas for a nightcap and an exciting film. Your sleeping quarters are comfortable and inviting, consisting of a pleasant king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a pretty twin. There is also a separate shower room - a welcome treat after a busy day. Wake up to fresh coffee on the decked area outside, and perhaps a late morning dip in your hot tub.

You don’t have to stray far to discover the beauty of your surroundings; there are multiple trails leading from your doorstep. The Lake District National Park is a varied landscape of rugged hills, tranquil lakes and chocolate-box villages, and a good starting point is the picturesque Pooley Bridge 13.5 miles away. We had a lovely 2 week stay. The peacocks that come around to see you are adorable. It is lovely and quiet and had locked gates at the front. Very private, just the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Penrith is a lovely place to visit and supply you with discs so you can park for an hour free.

Owners very friendly and helpful, giving any advice needed. Accommodation so clean and comfortable. Advertised as dog friendly yet smelled so clean and lovely. Loved the location - gated so safe for pets and kids.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
