Discover a unique landscape of sweeping fells, ancient trees and sparkling glacial lakes from the comfort of this enchanting Georgian property. Based just 6 miles from the gently lapping shoreline of Lake Windermere, your holiday accommodation has been lovingly equipped with everything you need for a peaceful stay, including all the essentials for a soothing brew, and a private en-suite in every bedroom. Sleeping six guests, you’ll soon be donning your boots and setting off to explore near and far.

Bask in the spectacular views across the Lyth Valley as you approach this impressive Grade II-listed apartment, shedding your coats and shoes as you step inside anticipating hot chocolate and marshmallows in the kitchen/diner. The farmhouse-style table is a wonderfully chic addition to the otherwise contemporary kitchen, providing a relaxing atmosphere for those hearty family meals. In the evenings, there’s nothing quite like popping a log on the wood burner and settling down with a glass of wine to watch the embers dancing. At bedtime, retire to one of three exquisite bedrooms, all of which boast their own elegant shower rooms and crisp bedding. Outside, the pretty garden is a delight for summer evening BBQs, and there’s plenty of lawn space too for younger visitors to play.

Set in a handy location between chocolate-box villages and the bustling market town of Kendal, you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to visit first. Browse the quirky antique galleries and soak up some local history in Kendal, 6.5 miles away, or set your sights on beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere, 6 miles away, to experience the cheerful array of independent shops. Foodies will be inspired at the variety of eateries and local produce on offer in the local area, venturing into Cartmel, 13 miles away, for a divine meal at a Michelin-star restaurant.

We (3 couples) had a wonderful week at Valley View, a very well appointed, comfortable cottage with superb views and friendly, helpful owners. The location is perfect for visiting many beautiful and interesting sites. It should however be noted that the "double bedroom" is quite small, which renders the access to the bed rather difficult.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
