This incredibly chic property, right in the heart of the pretty village of Cartmel, sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a small family getaway or a couples’ retreat. While away the hours pottering around the characterful village, exploring its artisan shops and quaint eateries. Don your finery and enjoy a day at the races at Cartmel Racecourse (just 100 metres away) or blow away the cobwebs with a seaside walk at Grange-over-Sands (2.5 miles).

The luxurious accommodation is sleek and stylish yet has plenty of character thanks to quirky design features and elegant accessories. Spend pleasant nights in together in the lounge, snuggled in front of the wood burner watching your favourite film on the Smart TV. There’s also a handy snug, again with a Smart TV, which is ideal if you have children staying with you who’d like a little independence in the evenings. The spacious kitchen/diner boasts a large seating area so you can enjoy mealtimes together. From here, patio doors lead to the secluded garden, where you’ll find a table and chairs to dine alfresco in the sunshine.

Cartmel Racecourse has a unique setting, against the backdrop of the beautiful surrounding fells. There’s a busy calendar of competitive jumps racing throughout the year, as well as other events. The atmosphere is relaxed, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own furniture and picnics to create a garden party vibe. Cartmel village is renowned for its fine dining restaurants and quaint cafes, so you have plenty of choice when it comes to eating out… and don’t forget to sample the village’s famous sticky toffee pudding! Nearby Holker Hall (2.5 miles) makes a lovely day out. Admire the fine display of antiques in the grand house and wander around the majestic gardens.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage, with plenty of space for 4 guests. It is very tastefully furnished and decorated and is in a great location in the centre of Cartmel. There are several pubs and cafes within a minute or two's walk, and Michellin starred restaurants for a treat (book well in advance). We would very happily return to Town End.

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
