Close to the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this tastefully furnished and attractively decorated holiday home is ideal for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and hikers exploring this unforgettable area.

This stunning cottage offers an airy open-plan lounge/diner which provides an ideal space to sit back, watch a film, catch up with a good book and enjoy a fabulous family meal together. A few steps lead down from the lounge into the attractive and spacious sunroom with lovely views across the garden. There’s also a charming country-style kitchen which is a pleasure to cook in. The ground floor also features a cosy snug, a fantastic games room with a full-size snooker table, a single bedroom, and a beautiful bathroom with a twin spa bath. There are two first-floor bedrooms – a double and a triple – each with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and skylights. Outside, the property offers glorious views from the extensive garden which has a large lawn perfect for children and dogs to run about on. The patio makes a great spot for dining alfresco on a lazy afternoon.

The historic market town of Wigton (3.5 miles) has some friendly places to eat and drink and is a great base for a range of outdoor activities. The Lake District lies to the south, with Bassenthwaite Lake (19 miles) being the nearest major body of water. Other local attractions include the Solway Coast, Watchtree Nature Reserve and Carlisle Racecourse (all within 12 miles).

Wow, that sums up this charming cottage. Beautiful well presented clean & very comfortable home from home with all the mod cons. Set in beautiful gardens in a quiet village location but not far away from the main town of Wigton. The little touches from the owners on arrival were thoughtful & pleasantly recieved. What an amazingly peaceful location perfectly situated for the northern lakes and southern Scotland. The cottage has everything you could possibly want or need with lots of extra complimentary essentials. On our one wet day the Snooker table was a Godsend and having Netflix was another. Lovely cottage located in the Cumbrian countryside. Owners live next door on their farm so are nearby should you need anything. Lots of nearby walks for the doggie however was a little disappointed that he couldnt join us upstairs at bedtime.

This cottage is perfect for a family, loads of space and our teenage son loved that he had his own sitting area attached to the bedroom he stayed in. The cottage has all you need and more, it's in a perfect location for visiting various locations around the lakes, we had wonderful days out in Carlisle and Silloth and visited local attractions WalbyRead more Farm Park and a park where you can hire bikes. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The snooker table was a definite hit with the kids and the garden was lovely and spacious. The owners are helpful and friendly, on hand to answer any questions. The location is a little further out than we thought but it wasnt a problem and made it so peaceful and lots of paths to explore. We had a really relaxing week at Stoneleigh Cottage as a family of six. The cottage is very clean and spacious. The full size snooker table kept my husband and son entertained, while we all enjoyed playing board games up the table under the chandelier. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds very comfortable. The area is beautiful with the lake dRead moreistrict only a 30 min drive away. The cottage was lovely lots of room for a family of 6. The games room was great for something to do on an evening. The owners where great too, given us loads of local information on what to do out and about. We all had a great time.
