Located in the heart of the busy town of Windermere, a mile from the lake of the same name, this Victorian terrace house is ideal for families or friends. Its central position within the Lake District National Park makes this a great base from which to explore the breathtaking and varied landscapes of the Lakes, with an array of majestic fells, tranquil lakes, and charming towns to discover. Keen walkers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing an adventure, but there are plenty of other activities on offer too, including bird watching, canoeing, and climbing.

Deceptively spacious, this modest-looking stone cottage has been beautifully renovated with careful attention to detail. Neutral tones and warm woods complement each other perfectly to create an inviting, contemporary home with an abundance of light and space. On entering, head into the cosy lounge where you can snuggle up in front of the roaring wood burner. From here, head into the stylish dining room which links with the kitchen, which is well-equipped with everything you’ll need to cook up a hearty meal. The four stunning bedrooms are arranged over the first and second floors, whilst there is a shower room or bathroom on every floor. Outside, there is a small seating area.

Explore both sides of Lake Windermere from here, with towns Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere offering a range of independent shops, eateries, and attractions. Further afield, you also have popular Ambleside and Grasmere (within 9 miles), which are both good starting points for gorgeous walks. Across the water, you can discover the area’s links to Beatrix Potter at her home ‘Hill Top’ in Near Sawrey (12 miles), which is nestled amongst stunning scenery. Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
