Nestled amongst the breathtaking scenery of Borrowdale in the Lake District National Park, this charming cottage is ideal for friends or families looking to enjoy a peaceful Lakeland break. Located in the tranquil hamlet of Seatoller, there is an abundance of walking routes on your doorstep. You can choose from strenuous hikes up some of the area’s highest fells, such as Great Gable, or more leisurely strolls along the River Derwent. Seatoller is also a popular place from which to ascend Scafell Pike. Its central location means you’re well-placed to discover the many gems the Lakes have to offer.

Sympathetically renovated to ensure original features sit effortlessly alongside contemporary fixtures and fittings, this beautiful stone cottage feels light and airy throughout. You enter into the cosy lounge with its roaring wood burner, which is a lovely spot to curl up of an evening. From here, head into the kitchen/diner where you can cook and dine together in style. Completing the downstairs accommodation is a utility room and shower room, whilst upstairs there are three exquisite bedrooms with countryside views, and a shower room. Outside, a small seating area offers somewhere to soak up your surroundings.

Surrounded by farmland, fells and woodland, keen walkers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a route. The area’s steepest pass, Honister Pass, leads from here to the lake of Buttermere in the west, or you could head north to Lodore Falls at the southern end of Derwentwater (4.5 miles), where you can find ‘outdoor capital’ Keswick on its northern shores. Other peaks worth exploring are Dale Head (2.5 miles) and Skiddaw (12.5 miles), as are the lakes of Ennerdale Water, Crummock Water and nearby Scale Force Waterfall, and Thirlmere, which offer stunning views of the impressive landscape.

Stunning cottage, really well thought out and comfortable. Virtually everything we needed for a super stay was provided. The location could not have been more perfect for us, there were so many spectacular walks from the door and being surrounded by Lake District fells felt very special. The space in the back room for keeping walking kit out of theRead more way was great and the living area very comfortable. We were only two and wonder if it might be a little cramped for four. All in all fabulous. Hide

Adventure, memories and awe-inspiring natural beauty await you in the rugged, wild and unique Cumbrian Lake District where beautiful expanses of water merge with magical forests against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and fells.

This ancient land has been sculpted by time and nature and is the newest UNESCO World Heritage Site and the first UK National Park to be awarded this outstanding accolade. Poets, writers and artists throughout the ages have been instinctively drawn here; William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, to name a few. The attractions and the diverse landscape will not fail to charm the young and the young at heart, whether that be thrill-seeking activities you seek, pure and cathartic inspiration or simply just some relaxation, you will find it here.

Cycling, walking, canoeing, white-water rafting, flying, parachuting and ballooning are just some of the offerings for any level of adrenalin junky. Experience the glory of nature in the wild or in a setting such as the Predator Experience where you can walk with wolves and learn about the importance of conservation. For a complete day of family, enjoy treetop capers at Go-Ape in the Grizedale Forest.

Vibrant towns and villages are there to be discovered, be it by land or water. You can step back in time and enjoy a steamboat cruise on a lake or leisurely unearth the dynamic scene of contemporary art, culture and some of the best dining in the UK by foot, bus or car.

The National Park is an area of breath-taking beauty that will leave you spoilt for choice, refuelled and inspired. So much so that you’ll want to come back time and time again.
